In September, Tavistock Group of Artists will be returning to Butchers’ Hall, close to the entrance of the Pannier Market in Tavistock, for their 68th Annual Exhibition. A preview evening will be held on Monday 16th September from 7pm to 9pm, all welcome. The exhibition then runs from Tuesday 17th to Saturday 21st, open from 10am to 5pm each day. Local artists and makers will be exhibiting their latest works in a range of styles and mediums. All will be available for purchase including original paintings, prints, cards, ceramics and more.
Established in 1953, the group aims to stimulate a continual interest in art by providing practical and theoretical opportunities for both amateur and professional artists. There are regular sessions with visiting creators giving workshops, talks and demonstrations as part of the programme which begins in September and runs through into June, at the Parish Rooms next to The Bedford Hotel. Membership is open to all artists and leisure painters living within a 20-mile radius of Tavistock. New members are warmly welcomed and can take advantage of a special membership offer at the exhibition. Please come along and have a chat if you would like to know more about the group and meet local artists who will be stewarding during the exhibition - or visit our facebook group to find out more. This exhibition is sponsored by Anthony Trueman & Co Ltd.
