AA Seal of Approval for Devon’s Moorland Garden Hotel

A Devon hotel is celebrating having passed its latest inspection by the AA with flying colours. The Moorland Garden Hotel near Yelverton has retained its Four Stars and Rosette for dining in The Wildflower Restaurant for a third time under the world-renowned hotel inspection and star-rating scheme.

The accolade gives a seal of approval to the hotel’s new Head Chef, Jake Westlake, who has only been in the role since last October.

AA inspector, Robert Martin, commented: "This was a most enjoyable visit, to a well-managed establishment, a focused team delivering friendly hospitality and attentive service in a delightful environment."

Welcoming the news, the Moorland Garden Hotel’s General Manager, Andrew King said: “To maintain these awards, and with the same quality rating as last time, is really gratifying. Huge congratulations to Jake and his team, as well as everyone working front of house and behind the scenes. The hard work has paid dividends.”

“I said recently that attaining the role of Head Chef was the proudest moment of my career, but this is the icing on the cake,” added Jake.

The Moorland Garden Hotel has also been shortlisted for the Family Business of the Year Awards 2017.
