Leading South West craft ale producer Dartmoor Brewery has appointed expert brewer Ian Cobham as the company’s new Managing Director

The announcement comes as the brewery, home of the famous Jail Ale, continues its growth in the craft ale sector within its Devon homeland, and through its growing portfolio of national trade customers outside of the region.

Since his appointment as Head Brewer in 2016, Ian has added new beers to the brewery’s award-winning range, including a new keg IPA designed to be served chilled, as well as reinforcing the brewery’s focus on quality, consistency and South West provenance.

An experienced and well-respected industry figure, Ian has previously worked with Cornwall’s Harbour Brewing Company, and Sharp’s Brewery.

In another new appointment announced today, Karen Lunney steps up to the role of Operations Manager.

Ian commented: “I am delighted to have this opportunity to lead Dartmoor Brewery into its next phase of development, particularly at a time when more and more beer drinkers are looking for top-quality ales with real local provenance. We are fortunate to have so many loyal Dartmoor Brewery fans and trade customers here in the South West, and a growing following in national markets beyond our traditional heartland.”
