Employment solicitor named Plymouth Law Society’s Young Lawyer of the Year 2017
Employment solicitor and associate of GA Solicitors, Robert Zacal, has been named as Plymouth Law Society’s Young Lawyer of the Year 2017.
The coveted award recognises any legal professional who has been practising for less than ten years and has made a significant contribution to both their organisation and the local community. The award was presented at the Law Society’s annual black-tie dinner on Friday 6th October.
Robert secured this recognition following his dedication of time and effort into helping teens around the city understand the importance of developing business skills and entrepreneurship. He has been a board member of Young Enterprise Plymouth for more than 18 months and was voted in as chair in July 2016. Since then he has worked closely with children aged 16-18 from a variety of secondary schools across Plymouth, providing support and guidance as part of Young Enterprise’s Company Programme.
Due to his high levels of commitment to the charity, Rob was awarded with a Gold Award by Young Enterprise at its regional awards ceremony in June.

Robert Zacal, winner of the award, added: “It was a real honour to be recognised by Plymouth Law Society and acknowledged at an event surrounded by my peers. I have very much enjoyed my work with Young Enterprise and found it to be very rewarding. I also hugely enjoy my role as an employment solicitor and to know I have had an impact in a firm as established as GA makes me feel incredibly proud.”
Robert Zacal joined GA Solicitors in 2014 as a solicitor and was promoted to associate in July 2017. An experienced employment solicitor, Rob advises employers and senior employees across the region on a wide range of employment issues.
