Museum seeks local entrepreneurs

The Museum of Dartmoor Life in Okehampton has seen an increase in day visitors since the opening of the GWR rail service on the Dartmoor Line. To ensure that it offers day visitors an exciting and stimulating visit, the museum is looking for additional help from business professionals to deliver an ambitious new strategic plan.

The museum is looking for business support with the following: 

• Public relations - Transforming the public perception of a rural museum in Okehampton to one which is the primary gateway to exploring the whole of Dartmoor, its history and people.   
• Digital - Enabling the museum to move into the 21st Century, to make use of technology to improve interpretation and the overall visitor experience.  This role will also support our goal of reaching beyond the physical constraints of the museum through digital engagement onto the moor itself.
• Digital Marketing - Supporting wider engagement with visitors - locally, nationally and internationally - and reaching a more diverse and inclusive audience.
• Income generation - Securing external funding such as grants and donations, enabling the museum to deliver its strategic development goals and hence its growth.
