Tavistock BID summer activities for everyone …
In summer I feel Tavistock looks more beautiful than ever, with the hanging baskets bringing so much colour to the town. This year Tavistock BID has put up more baskets than in previous years and we are pleased to report that there are over 193 baskets around Tavistock. The baskets really showcase the town and ensure people want to keep coming back. We also compete in the annual Britain in Bloom awards where we are consistently strong contenders - for the last 3 years we have won Gold for the BID entry. This year we are hoping for yet another success.
This summer we have really focussed our attention on putting on a comprehensive list of events to increase footfall into the town. Events to look forward to include staged character displays, weekly craft tents, circus and skate skills days on the square and finally Miss Ivy’s Tavistock Fete.
Over Easter we arranged a very successful Bunny Hunt that saw over 200 participants during the weekend and business owners commented on the marked increase of visitors to their shops. We are now hoping to replicate that success by putting on a treasure hunt that will see people following the clues around the shops of Tavistock in search of treasure. The event was launched by our pirate characters on 26th July and will run throughout the summer holidays. All hunters will receive a free pirate hat along the way as well as their treasure at the end of the trail.

Every Monday Tavistock Scrap Store will be on Bedford Square creating themed craft sessions for both children and adults.
