macOS High Sierra is now available to download on laptops and iMacs. You should already have Sierra, but just to check, go to the apple symbol and choose ‘about this Mac’. If it says anything other than 10.12 then you need to get started on updating it. Go to the app store which should be on the dock and click on updates. We can help if it becomes tricky! Just to re-iterate, it is important to keep your Mac up to date. We recognize that things can sometimes change as a result, but better that than having to throw the item away because it has become too ‘out-of-date’. iPhone and iPad are updated separately, and that is just as important.

You have Windows 10 and you miss your games? You will be pleased to hear we have managed to get a program that will install all the old favourites, such as Minesweeper, Mahjong, and the original versions of Solitaire. Give us a call and we can install them for you, as well as give your machine and setup a ‘once-over’ to see if there is anything it needs, such as blowing out dust or just a tidy up. Or, if you prefer to do it yourself, then search for ‘Windows 7 games for Windows 10 Anniversary’ and download from the website ‘winaero.com’. However, you need to be careful as there is a lot to trip you up on websites such as this.

Take care when searching on the internet for telephone numbers for organisations that are difficult to get hold of, such as Microsoft, McAfee or Kaspersky. You might think that calling is the easiest way to communicate with them, but numbers on the internet can often be false and you may end up giving someone access to your computer who has nothing to do with the organisation you thought you were contacting. At the very least, make sure you are using Google as your search engine and make sure the number you see is replicated lots of times elsewhere. Otherwise this can cost you hundreds of pounds, so it is quite important!
