On Saturday 30th June, the Aquarium is inviting families to join them for an evening of fun and games. Visitors can look forward to plenty of activities including party games, face painting and eating lots of birthday cake! Visitors can also enjoy the Aquarium by night and explore some of the fascinating exhibits including the Atlantic exhibit, which is the largest and deepest tank in the UK, and home to Friday the Green Turtle.

Paul Botterill, Public Engagement Coordinator at the National Marine Aquarium, commented: “We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to join us for our birthday party to celebrate this special year. We are encouraging visitors to come along to the Aquarium and take part in the exciting birthday activities we have planned, as well as learn more about the marine life in our oceans and how we can help look after them.”

To celebrate the special birthday year, the NMA will be hosting many special events over the next few months including, birthday boat trips to explore the Plymouth Sound, Nuffield wellbeing events and an extra special Sleeping with Sharks Sleepover, with celebrations culminating on 24th July – the NMA’s official birthday day.
