Celebrating the work of volunteers

Volunteers across the county were thanked for their contribution in their local area during Volunteers’ Week this summer.

Devon Voluntary Action’s (DeVA) partners wanted to help local charities to say ‘thank you’ to volunteers who have made a real difference to the community and the people they work with.

Clare Humphreys, DeVA volunteering support co-ordinator, said: ‘Volunteers are a shining example of how we can all make a difference to individuals and communities every day from improving the environment we live in, spending time with those who may otherwise be lonely and contributing to a range of other essential services and support.’

Devon Voluntary Action (DeVA) is a partnership of locally based organisations providing comprehensive support to Devon’s voluntary and community sector.

The partnership promotes and supports thriving, vibrant and healthy communities across Devon. By harnessing collective knowledge, skill and experience, DeVA helps the voluntary sector to succeed and grow.
