Christmas markets

30 November to 21 December

Plymouth Christmas Market

More than 60 log-cabin-style stalls will fill Plymouth’s central piazza, providing a huge range of the best arts, crafts and foods from around the South West. This is a great opportunity to browse unique hand-crafted gifts and enjoy your Christmas shopping in a relaxed environment. In the marquee there will be real Christmas trees and garlands for sale, while a Bavarian bar with heated seats will offer some respite when you need a break from shopping. There will be warming drinks and lots of festive food available to try and buy, as well as Christmas entertainment. All the stalls will be lit up with fairy lights, making it a perfect venue for late night shopping as well.

5th, 12th and 19th December 3:30pm-9.30pm

Totnes Christmas Late Night Shopping

Totnes late-night shopping events see a massive influx of people into the medieval high street to enjoy at least 50-60 stalls, selling crafts and locally made food and drink, as well as the town’s numerous independent shops. In the Civic Hall, Santa’s Grotto with inflatable entertainment will be open from 5pm with an entry fee of £3.00. Market Square will host entertainment including Totnes school of Dance, primary school choirs, adult choirs, Totnes Brass Band, Beltane Border Morris, The Jamming Station and Dartington Youth Theatre. At the newly designed Rotherfold, bands will be playing in the pubs on all three evenings till late. Try delicious food, local cider and mulled wine while you shop at Totnes Christmas markets. A free Park and Ride service is available every 15 minutes from Follaton House, Plymouth Road to the Rotherfold and then down to Coronation Road from 5 till 10 pm (donations are taken on board for the Bob The Bus charity).

16th November to 17th December

Exeter Christmas Market on Cathedral Green

Head to Exeter’s city centre this winter for this year's Christmas Market, organised by Exeter Cathedral. We're looking forward to an exciting mix of local and continental traders, showcasing the best of festive food, crafts and gifts.  The market will focus on the west front of the cathedral and new for 2017 will be the west front bandstand, with local bands, carol singers and choirs entertaining traders and customers. It will still have a ‘continental’ feel as in previous years but will also offer more opportunities for local businesses and performers. Whilst in Exeter don't forget to visit the other Christmas street markets in Castle Street and Fore Street. The market will open on Thursday 16th November at 3pm, followed by an official launch later that evening. It will then open as follows:

Monday to Wednesday: 10am - 7pm

Thursday to Saturday: 10am - 9pm

Sunday: 11am - 5pm
