Sponsored by twelve generous Devon businesses, featuring photographs given freely by extremely talented photographers, a remarkable 2017 calendar celebrating the beauty of Dartmoor, designed and produced by Visit Dartmoor for the Dartmoor Business Network, has gone on sale.  The calendar is available from a number of local outlets including the DPHT Centre at Parke, Bovey Tracey; Pixieland at Dartmeet; The House of Marbles at Bovey Tracey; Bovey Castle Hotel and via the Visit Dartmoor website.  A minimum of £5 per calendar will go to the DPHT.

Guest of honour at the launch last Friday was Judi Spiers, DPHT Patron, radio broadcaster and newspaper columnist who said: “The work of the DPHT has made an enormous difference to the survival of the iconic symbol of Dartmoor, the traditional pony, and to the lives of hundreds of children facing a range of challenging life issues, who have been helped by its ‘Ponies Inspiring People’ equine assisted learning programmes.  Bear is a great example of a Dartmoor – he is very much a ‘go anywhere, do everything’ pony!  The calendar is a true celebration of our wonderful landscape and I know that every penny raised will be well spent.”

The Dartmoor Business Network was established in 2015 by Jo Butler of the Eden Hotel Collection (Bovey Castle, Buckland Tout Saints), Jenny How and Simon Lloyd of Visit Dartmoor and Claire Doyle of Claire Doyle Marketing, with the aim of creating a networking group that brings together businesses not only on Dartmoor, but across much of Devon.  The group has been a great success, with new business partnerships being formed, joint marketing activities, skills sharing and development opportunities, along with lots of ideas for increasing the visibility and benefits of Dartmoor to the wider public.  It currently has over 300 members.

The Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust is the Dartmoor Business Network’s Charity of the Year.
