Since opening our doors to the Eversfield Organic Dartmoor Inn, Merrivale on May 17th, we’ve loved welcoming locals and new faces alike and serving up some serious organic goodness. We’ve had some lovely feedback from customers about both our restaurant and rooms, complementing our luxurious bedding, stunning views of Dartmoor, friendly staff and incredible food.

We had a brilliant stay with dinner, bed and breakfast at this wonderful Inn this week. The organic food was delicious and the setting nestling in Dartmoor National Park was magical. The client service was really caring and they could not have been more helpful. Our batteries were fully recharged. We shall return!”

The grass-fed and finished organic Aberdeen Angus beef from our farm only 15 miles from the inn is cooked in front of diners’ eyes on our brand-new Ox Grill, and it’s safe to say it cooks up an impressive steak. So much so, that the inn has been branded a “meat eaters paradise.” Fish and limited vegetarian and vegan dining options are also available.

The inn, which sits just a stone’s throw from Tavistock and Princetown, is open for lunch and dinner reservations, with breath-taking views across Dartmoor as the perfect backdrop. The menu is 100% organic with everything sourced from the Eversfield Organic farm and Market Garden, or from a wonderful selection of small, local producers. The traditional Devon bar offers a fine selection of the best local, organic ales from the barrel, alongside organic wines, cocktails, mixers and soft drinks.

Our charming rooms provide a truly peaceful getaway, with the inn the perfect base to set-forth on your next Dartmoor adventure. Both our Double Rooms and Moorland view Double Rooms have a private or ensuite bathroom and breakfast included.

Our New Head Chef

Introducing Our New Head Chef at the Dartmoor Inn: Tom Dodd

A large part of cooking up a storm at the Dartmoor Inn is thanks to the newest addition of the team: our head chef Tom Dodd. Tom’s past experience made him the perfect choice to head up our organic kitchen, having worked at many chef jobs across the country (including London’s The Ritz Hotel) and gaining experience from kitchen to kitchen. Something about the South West always drew Tom back and he’s more than excited about his new position at the inn.

Tom loves being able to work with “100% organic, top quality meat” and our farm to fork ethos is something he stands strongly behind. Going back to basics, cooking on an open fire with real, premium ingredients makes Tom’s new job a whole lot easier, allowing the organic food to “speak for itself.”
