Don’t miss latest drama on Dartmoor by MED Theatre

Dartmoor based MED Theatre are busily preparing their annual touring community play, ‘Peat’.  Rehearsals are well underway in Moretonhampstead with their talented multigenerational community cast.

Temperate rain forest or peat-blanketed moorland? When an immersive theatre company seeks to encourage one more than the other, they get tangled up in local conservation politics on Dartmoor. In this comedy of oak and peat, featuring botanist Dr Ebenezer Pollen and archaeologist Beryl Cairns, can site-specific theatre and science somehow agree on the best route to protecting the future of Dartmoor?

Once again, MED Theatre seeks to bring communities together to consider pertinent social, scientific and environmental themes that affect the National Park and beyond. ‘Peat’ aims to engage and educate audiences about this current multifaceted issue facing the people, places and wildlife of Dartmoor.

‘Peat’ performances will take place between 11th- 19th March in Manaton and Moretonhampstead Parish Halls and other venues to be announced shortly.
