Not Just Any Cake Sale… It’s a Gables Charity Cake Sale!
Despite the third national lockdown starting to ease at the beginning of April, Gables Dogs and Cats Home are still unable to fully open their doors and “get back to normal”. They are currently closed for public viewing, and have made the difficult decision not to attend or hold any events for the remainder of 2021. This is to continue safeguarding their staff and volunteers so they can be there for the dogs and cats in their care.
Due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, Gables had to adapt their fundraising methods, so they have been holding online events such as raffles, cake sales and pet shows to raise vital funds to support their animals.
They have another fantastic cake sale event coming up soon and are hoping to spread the word so everyone can get involved, eat cake and support their charity. Orders for their homemade cake sale will open on 15th May and you will have until the 24th May to order a box of your favourites. Collection will be from Gables between 9.30am-3.30pm on Friday 28th, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th May.
For just £10 you can have 5 slices of your choice of delicious, fresh, homemade cake. Choose from: Lemon Drizzle, Ginger Sponge, Coffee & Walnut, Chocolate Sponge, Banana & Chocolate Chip, Rocky Road, Coconut Macaroons (GF), Carrot Cake, Cherry and Coconut, Lemon & Lime Sponge (Vegan), Chocolate Brownies (VE & GF). You can also purchase a whole pavlova for just £10.
Gables Dogs & Cats Home does not receive any government funding and has felt the financial strain from the Coronavirus pandemic.
