Open Evening on September 20th Gives Local Community a Chance to Explore
Ashridge Court Farm, a wildlife friendly, family farm just outside North Tawton, is delighted that their new event and wedding venue, the Ashridge Great Barn, is officially open for business. Nestled in a secluded valley, this ancient barn has been sympathetically restored, using local building materials to enhance the rustic atmosphere. With its modern facilities, the barn is the ideal location for weddings as well as workshops, exhibitions or any manner of celebrations. Ashridge Great Barn will work with local businesses and is intended to provide a valued community resource.
Since the Richards' bought the Ashridge Court Estate in 2012, they have worked hard to bring the farm back into a productive state after decades of neglect. Working with local farmers and foresters to improve productivity whilst enhancing the environmental value of the farm. Initially restored to save the building from further weather damage, the Ashridge Great Barn was pressed into use as a wedding reception venue in 2015 for their daughter and LEADER funding allowed the installation of bathroom facilities and a car park so that the venue could be used commercially. With another successful wedding now under their belts – the whole team at Ashridge Court Farm look forward to an exciting future for this flexible space.
To raise the profile of the new venue, an open evening is being held on September 20th from 17:00 – 21:00 and everyone is invited to come and explore the barn and facilities and to take a tour of the surrounding farm. Press and suppliers are invited to attend the Secret Garden Party from 15:00 – 17:00 for a cream tea, tours and a short presentation on the vision for the Ashridge Great Barn.
