Rotary Round-up

July was the start of the new year for the Rotary club and we welcomed in our president for 2019/20 - John Hanson - who has lived locally for many years. He is a great supporter of local charities and this year will support four local charities chosen by Tavistock Rotary members. We have lots of events planned throughout the year: we will be working alongside Tavistock Heritage Trust at their craft festival on 17th/18th August, with stalls on the church green and we are excited to announce that we are selling tickets for a talk given by Barry Gray of ‘Challenge Antarctica’ (see Local People) on 17th September at Mount Kelly (contact Chris Ellis on 01822 616507 or mrsceellis@hotmail.com). Everyone will be looking forward to Goose Fair - hopefully the weather will be as good as it was last year. We will be fundraising for local charities with our Bric-a-Brac and book stalls - if you have any donations please contact Chris Ellis. Then look out in October for details about our annual Christmas Lunch where we served food to over 80 people last year at a very successful event.

Tavistock Rotary continues to not only raise money for charity but also help people in the local community, while our Friends of Rotary team also has all the fun and satisfaction of fundraising and helping others without the weekly club commitment.
