Springtime at Buckland Abbey

Springtime at Buckland is all about giant eggs, the natural world and getting out and about as we wave goodbye to winter. This spring sees a final flourish of the hugely popular Art of Reflection exhibition when Andrew Logan’s Cosmic Egg goes on show in the Great Barn. The astonishing Cosmic Egg, a universal symbol of the principle of life, stands over 4 metres high and is covered in mirrored swirls, representing cosmic time and space; it will be at Buckland to celebrate the rebirth of spring and Easter, reflecting and provoking thought about the world today. Alongside the Cosmic Egg, there will be a brand-new spring trail encouraging visitors to get out to enjoy and appreciate the natural world around us. So why not stick on those wellies and get out and about? – there’s always a warming soup or hot chocolate in the restaurant for the end of a bracing walk, or if you fancy getting more involved with the work we do why not consider volunteering with us? We’d love to hear from you.
