Tavistock BID

Did you know Tavistock is ‘coach friendly’? Tavistock BID in partnership with the Town Council and Market Reeve, recently made a presentation to the Coach Friendly Association and demonstrated that Tavistock meets all the requirements to achieve this coveted status. We are delighted with this result as it places a seal of approval on Tavistock as a great destination for coach visitor and group tour organisations. We are already advertising our success further afield and hope to see an increasing number of visitors in Tavistock this year.

Keep a look out for the Town Guide arriving on your doormat; this will be delivered to local households at the beginning of June and is produced in collaboration with the Town Council. It contains important dates for your diary and plenty of information about how the BID, Council and local interest groups are working together in 2018.

Last year the BID developed and organised a Summer Festival for the town. This well-attended addition to our events calendar generated lots of positive feedback, so this year we are planning to do it all again!

We are already working with The Edge and Simon Dell, to plan ‘Tavistock Alive’, a series of tours around the town with local historical characters and fascinating Tavistock facts. We are developing a Tree Trail of special interest trees and a Heritage Trail, and when complete these will become permanent offerings available throughout the year.

With children in mind, we will be offering various activities throughout the summer holidays. Based around Bedford Square, these will include ‘Time Travellers’ and ‘Be a Superhero day’.  We will publicise this from late June onwards, so make sure to check our website visit-tavistock.co.uk or like our Facebook page @visittavistock to keep up-to-date with all our latest news and events.
