The Power in Your Hands

Tamar Energy Community (TEC) is one of seven community energy groups across the South West, Wales and the Midlands awarded a place as part of a ground-breaking trial providing access to open data on local electricity networks. Our winning innovation ideas could have a real impact on the future of local networks and local benefits. TEC is very excited about the opportunities this could bring to our area. With support from Western Power Distribution (WPD) we’ll be developing a web-based app to put ‘The Power in Your Hands’. As a local householder you can understand how much power your neighbourhood is using, your share and how you compare, plus see times of the day when energy use is less intense and could be cheaper. You can then make your own choices - can I use less by switching things off or using them less? - can I switch on appliances when my energy will cost less? If this sounds interesting, and you’d like to get involved, please get in touch.
