Weir Quay Slipway Upgraded

Contractors for West Devon Borough Council have replaced the concrete ramp at the top of the public slipway at Weir Quay in Bere Ferrers parish. The slipway is the only public access to the River Tamar in West Devon and is used for a variety of water sports ,including sailing ,rowing and canoeing .

The ramp had begun to break up, which could have become a safety issue. The contractors have demolished the old structure, replacing it with a new, reinforced concrete ramp that will see many years of service.
