Local Trust adds leadership expert to drive improvement across the region

Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust (DMAT), has been delighted to welcome Jules Ruddick as a Trust Champion and Strategic Lead for SEND and Inclusion since the start of the January term.

The Trust, which runs 17 schools across Dartmoor, recruited Jules to champion Trust-wide continuous improvement and drive positive change, so that pupils and families consistently receive the very best service possible in all of DMAT’s schools.

This builds on the work already being done by DMAT, who recently recruited four additional Trust Champions to drive improvements across the Trust and support the positive vision of new CEO Dan Morrow.

Mr Ruddick brings an extensive skill set from a successful career in both the care and education sectors. Within the latter, he has over a decade’s worth of innovative senior leadership experience, up to and including that of headteacher.

Throughout his senior leadership career, Mr Ruddick has led on delivering successful and impactful SEND provision in several areas of the country, from creating highly effective, pioneering start-ups to helping drive standards and performance of existing services.

Jules Ruddick, Trust Champion for DMAT, said:

“I am thrilled to have joined the Trust during an extremely exciting time. I feel genuinely blessed and privileged to have worked in both the care & education sectors for nearly 20 years, and am determined to use this experience to support DMAT’s positive vision.

“Learning from time well-spent within mainstream and alternative provisions as well as in the field of SEND, and across all phases, I am keen to add to the fantastic work already in place within the Trust. I arrive in Devon from the Lake District and can quickly see that I am very fortunate to be moving to another stunning area of natural beauty offering, as well, a strong sense of community.”

Dan Morrow, incoming CEO of Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust, said:

“We are delighted to have Jules as part of the Trust family – he brings with him a wealth of fantastic experience, and I know his insights will be invaluable in helping us to drive improvements for all our schools and pupils every single day.”
