New headteacher at St Andrew’s CE Primary School

I have recently joined St Andrew’s CE Primary School as the new head teacher from September, and I am delighted to be leading such a lovely church school in a beautiful location on the edge of Dartmoor. I spent some of my childhood in Devon, growing up in Newton Abbot and then later completed my teacher training at the University of St Mark and St John in Plymouth. My teaching career began in the London area, and then I moved overseas to Malawi, with my young family. I led educational development projects there for several years, before becoming head teacher of a successful British international school near Blantyre, Malawi.

In 2014, I returned to the UK with my family, and my two younger children joined St Andrew’s; I now have one child completing their final year there as I begin my headship there. When not at school, I enjoy walking our sprocker called Poppy and also assist at Marjons hockey club and Buckland Monachorum cricket club during their playing seasons. It’s been a busy but successful first half-term at St Andrew’s and it’s a privilege to go to work each day with a great staff team and children who love learning!
