Our new cheeky Otter has a name… Harry

by

We had lots of fantastic suggestions but we all felt that Harry summed him up nicely!  We think Ben and Laura may have been reading a few of JK Rowlings popular wizard books!

Our Otter was kindly designed for us by Jenny Aveyard, a very talented local illustrator. Our Otter will be making quite a few appearances as you flick through the pages of future Tavy Links magazines. Jenny has also recently illustrated A Dog's Guide to Happiness which was reviewed in the February/March issue of the magazine.

Jenny was born and brought up in Broughty Ferry, described as the 'jewel in Dundee's crown', and from an early age was fascinated by animals - in particular dogs. She also loved drawing and even as a young child she was constantly sketching dogs - real and imaginary. She remembers her father bringing home a comic for her sometimes, which featured a cartoon of Paddy Paws, a Golden Cocker Spaniel. Jenny was desperate to have a dog, so eventually her parents relented and Honey (who obviously had to be a Golden Cocker Spaniel) became her first dog.

Jenny studied a degree in Textiles and Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee, one of the top art schools in the UK.
