The Flying Shop of Imagination set to land at Buckland Abbey

An interactive workshop for all the family at Buckland Abbey is set to unravel the tales of Sir Francis Drake who once owned the estate near Yelverton.

Children aged six to eleven, and their families, are invited to join the Flying Shop of Imagination on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 August from 11am until 1pm or from 2pm until 5pm.

Rich Burrow, Visitor Experience Officer at Buckland Abbey, said: ‘The Flying Shop of Imagination is a magical location constructed out of words and recycled materials. It is an installation designed to inspire children to write and to fuse their writing with art as the literary adventure about Drake’s lost voyage unfolds.’

The workshop is hosted by authors and artists from Greenword Tree, a travelling theatre company designed to create imaginative theatre, creative writing and artistic experiences via the art of storytelling.

Entry to the the Flying Shop of Imagination workshop is £4.50 per person. Places are limited – call 01822 853607 to book.
