22-years-old and still entertaining!Stannary Brass Band invites you to its ever-popular Christmas Concert in St Eustachius’ Church Tavistock, with special guests the St Austell based Acappella Sound and Barbershop Chorus - a fun-loving group of women, ranging from 16 to 75-years-old from all over Cornwall, who are passionate about singing. The ladies’ desire to perform and entertain to the very best of their abilities has placed them 10th barbershop chorus in the UK and Netherlands for two years in a row. The concert will be hosted by Angela Rippon CBE, who has been a familiar face and voice in British broadcasting for over 50 years as well as an award-winning journalist. In 2002 she was voted European Woman of Achievement and has been awarded an OBE in recognition of her services to broadcasting, charity and the arts, and a CBE for services to dementia care. The concert starts at 7:30pm and tickets cost £7 for adults and £2 for under-18s - available from Stags Estate Agents in Tavistock or on the door.

Stannary Brass Band, now in its' 22nd year, enjoys taking part in local events, such as parades, services, concerts, weddings and fetes. It promotes family inclusion and provides opportunities for young people to learn to play an instrument and perform in public. Instruments are available – free of charge - for anyone from the age of 6 upwards who would like to learn to play.
