31st October to 4th November Tavistock Musical Theatre Company presents ‘The Wizard of Oz’

When Dorothy Gale’s home in Kansas is hit by a tornado, carrying her to Munchkinland, her adventures start as she follows the yellow brick road to find the great Wizard of Oz and ask him to help her get home. Join Dorothy and all her friends for Tavistock Musical Theatre Company’s production of L. Frank Baum’s timeless classic, including well-known favourites such as ‘Over the Rainbow’ and ‘We’re Off to See the Wizard’.

Charlotte Penrith and Issey Persse will be sharing the role of Dorothy accompanied by a cast of 26 local children, along with adult cast members. After a NODA award-winning production of ‘Pirates of Penzance’ in 2015 and an absence of two years from the Tavistock Stage, TMTC is delighted to present ‘The Wizard of Oz’. The production will be directed by Julian Bennett, who has been involved with the company for many years as cast member, chairman and director, and he will be assisted by Patti Stott as choreographer and wardrobe mistress, and Rosemary Fox as musical director.

The show runs at The Wharf from Tuesday 31st October until Saturday 4th November with a gala night on the Thursday evening, when all proceeds from the raffle will be given to Kingdon House, where TMTC has rehearsed for many years. Kingdon House is currently raising money for its restoration fund.
