Art Group Exhibition

Chagford art group members will be holding their annual exhibition again in the Jubilee Hall Chagford from August 9 until August 12 from 10am until 4pm daily and as usual the exhibition can be relied upon to produce a wide variety of works including those in  pastels, oils, acrylics, gouache, and watercolours. The group meets every Thursday afternoon throughout the year at the Cricket Club Pavilion in Chagford and is now in its 42nd year. The group has been recognised throughout the country, and abroad,. for maintaining high standards of work. It is a very happy group and some of its members have become known internationally, Jane Simants  is now well known for her portraits and interiors while others have gained a reputation through their work in landscapes, Chinese art and naive art all of which continue to be highly popular. The group always welcomes new artists to join them, experienced or otherwise, since sharing interests and developing abilities provided the initial foundation for the group. Some members already travel quite long distances to the meetings, from Newton Abbot and Dorset et cetera. Many artists will be at the exhibition to talk to visitors and there is no entrance fee, so visitors can feel free to just come along to be welcomed and to enjoy another worthwhile exhibition.
