Ceramics and Paintings by Michael Storrs

The next show at the Plough Gallery is by Michael Storrs and opens on Saturday 29 April, running up until Sat 20 May.

Michael Storrs’ family moved from Australia in 1960 and moved to an incredibly large and cold house in Dorset!

In his early 20's Michael learnt that he was dyslexic which explained why his schooldays had been awful.

Throughout this time he studied Violin which probably saved him, however difficulties with sight reading meant that he had real difficulty working professionally.

In his mid 20's he got his first job managing the English Chamber Orchestra, after that he managed the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and then joined IMG which promoted Tours and Festivals all around the world.

During this period he worked with many famous artists on a regular basis, including Jose Carreras,Daniel Barenboim,Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Bryn Terfel.

More recently he has been able to focus full time on making sculpture and painting and lives in Bideford.
