The Sound of Music will be the next production fo TMTC

Tavistock Musical Theatre Company (or TMTC) was formed in 1955; back then the company was known as the Tavistock Amateur Operatic Society.

Over the past 50+ years the company has presented over 60 major musicals, together with countless concerts, plays and revues. All the early shows played to packed houses in the Town Hall attracting long queues for tickets when the box office opened. With the opening of the Wharf Theatre in Tavistock, the company  again played to capacity audiences and received critical acclaim.

The musicals presented over the years (to name but a few), include The Mikado in 1955, Oklahoma, Brigadoon, The Sound of Music, Oliver, Little Shop of Horrors, Annie, My Fair Lady, Anything Goes and Sweet Charity.

TMTC celebrated it's 60th anniversary in 2015 with its production of Pirates of Penzance for which it won the NODA Allan Brooking award for best G&S production in the South West Region.

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive company, welcoming people of all ages from 16+, no matter whether their particular interest is singing, acting, dancing or helping behind the scenes.

The sound of Music will be performed Tuesday 22nd - 26th October at the Tavistock Town Hall
