Donate for Dartmoor

Looking after history, wildlife and landscape

Dartmoor is a special place full of wildlife, historical treasures and vast expanses of open moor to explore and enjoy.

Donate for Dartmoor is a scheme that raises funds so that Dartmoor National Park Authority can look after this amazing landscape; repair eroded paths and replace worn out signs, research wildlife and help it thrive, uncover history and understand our heritage.

Supported by donations from the public, businesses small and large, as well as participants of events that take place on the moor, Donate for Dartmoor has contributed to a variety of projects. These include:

• The restoration of Nun’s Cross Path at Princetown – a 20km route that will enable cyclists and walkers to access the high moor and boost tourism as well as the local economy.

• The research and habitat management for the Southern Damselfly enabling this rare species to flourish.

• Improving public rights of way through erosion repair, improved signage and better footing.

Support and funding is always needed to continue with this work so that the story of Dartmoor - home to so much and history - can continue to be loved for years to come. All support helps carry out vital work to protect and enhance Dartmoor's special qualities.
