Pack up a perfect picnic and help save hens from slaughter

Celebrate National Picnic Week 2017 by picking up some free range pies and pasties and holding a Free Range Friday for the British Hen Welfare Trust.

The week, which celebrates all things al fresco, takes place between Friday, 16 June and Sunday, 25 June. That means there are not one but two Fridays on which to hold your free range event.

The aim of Free Range Friday is to bake all things yummy containing free range eggs which you can then share with friends, family or work colleagues in exchange for a donation for the charity which gives a free range retirement to thousands of commercial laying hens destined for slaughter every year.

If you’re not much of a budding baker, we have money off vouchers for some gorgeous Higgidy pies! All you have to do is sign up to hold a Free Range Friday and you’ll receive a fundraising pack containing all you need to make your event a success, plus the vouchers. Higgidy’s scrumptious pies all use the best kind of eggs – the free range kind.

On top of all that, there are some free Higgidy pies worth £45 up for grabs for whoever holds the best event!

So why not take your lunch break outside and encourage your colleagues to join you in the sunshine? Or spruce up your garden and invite your neighbours round for brunch. It’s a simple concept with a simple message – eat and raise cash to save hens from slaughter!
