South Zeal Carnival

South Zeal Carnival was revived in 1987 and since has gone from strength to strength, The sounds and colours illuminate the village in October. This years Carnival is held on Saturday 26th October with things kicking off with our children’s parade at 1.30 at the Kings Arms.

The classes are as follows: under 5, 5-7 yrs, 8-9 yrs, 10-11yrs, over 12’s, pairs, groups and decorated wheels. Then at 4.30 the Main Street will be closed to allow the floats to line up, get ready for the tough job of judging at 6pm. The procession will move off at 7pm prompt and will take in the village of south zeal and sticklepath.

There are classes for everyone: Artistic, Comic, trade, original, topical, visiting royalty, single Walker, pairs, groups and pedestrian controlled vehicles. We also have challenge cups to be won. We have our Grand draw raffle tickets available to buy with prizes including £50 cash, Exeter chief tickets, £25 voucher for the Oxenham Arms South Zeal plus many more. In addition this years Carnival charity is The Alzheimer’s Society.
