Become an otter spotter!

Moor Otters is a feel-good public arts project taking young and old on an amazing journey of learning and discovery, creating stories and making memories.

Eighty one decorated Otter with Cub sculptures have been released onto Dartmoor, creating four arts trails, standing tall on plinths waiting to be spotted. There will also be a Mayflower trail in Plymouth and several otters in gateway towns and villages.

A trail map is available at www.dartmoor.gov.uk so you can plan ahead. Please remember some businesses may still have some Covid restrictions in place. Trail maps are also available at Dartmoor Visitor Centres. Please be as sustainable as possible and use public transport, car share, cycle or walk if you can. There are prizes for the most sustainable otter spotter!

At the end of the summer, ‘otter-spotters’ as well as art collectors and individuals will have the opportunity to give their favourite otter a new home, when they are auctioned to raise funds for vital conservation and access projects in the National Park.

Have a great summer.
