Discover Dartmoor this April

Join us in celebrating a milestone anniversary for National Parks this National Parks Fortnight, 6th to 21st April.    The National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act was passed in 1949 resulting in the first National Parks in the UK being designated in 1951 – Dartmoor was one of four areas of land to receive National Park status that year. This year sees the 70th anniversary of the passing of that Act.  

To commemorate this momentous Act, a number of activities and events will be held during National Parks Fortnight 2019. From letterboxing to navigation, and storytelling to caving, there will be something for everyone and all ages.  The theme for the fortnight is ‘Discovering National Parks’ so why not discover your own piece of Dartmoor?

 “We are so pleased to have a fantastic programme of events that allows people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the special qualities of Dartmoor. Whether they are confident walkers, or first time visitors, we have something to offer them with the  activities running throughout the Easter holidays.“
