Stick week at Cotehele this half-term

by

Stick-related activities will run each day from Monday 29 May to Friday 2 June, 12 noon - 3pm in the Mother Orchard. There will be a different activity each day, including hobby horse making and model making. All events are free and drop-in, with no need to book; normal admission charges apply.

‘There’s no end to the creative things you can do with a simple stick,’ says Emma Barnes, Visitor Services Officer at the National Trust estate near Saltash. ‘During ‘stick week’, families and children will be able to make jumping hobby horses, string art, miniature worlds, story tablets and streamers.’

Emma says ‘we’re looking forward to families coming and enjoying the Mother Orchard in a fresh way, which we hope will move and inspire them to value it anew and are moved to help look after it.’

Other things for families and children to do at Cotehele throughout the week include a quiz trail at the mill, a tapestry quiz trail in the house, a den-building area, a wooden climbing structure play area, playing Pooh sticks near the mill, and ‘50 things to do before you’re 11¾’ adventures, with a scrapbook and stickers for children.
