Dickensian Evening 1st December

Tavistock is transported back in time for our annual Dickensian Evening, with shop owners and their staff embracing traditional Victorian dress. The evening provides a great opportunity to start your Christmas shopping and enjoy the festive atmosphere with shops open late, entertainments, stalls selling roasted chestnuts, hot food and drinks and even steam engines. The Pannier Market will also be staying open late and at 5:45pm the Christmas lights will be switched on.

Dickensian Evening is organised by Tavistock Business Improvement District (BID), supported by town centre businesses and local charities and organisations. Tavistock Town Council works closely with the BID to provide the Christmas lights. The town centre car parks will be free from 4pm and there will be a Park and Ride service running from Morrisons car park from 5pm to 9 pm. So why not come on down and start December with a truly magical evening amongst family and friends.
