Barbican Lights Switch On 2023
Plymouth Waterfront Partnership (PWP) is delighted to announce that nominations are now open for its annual Community Hero Award. This very special award recognises individuals or organisations that have made an exceptional contribution to the Plymouth waterfront community.
The winner of the award is given the honour of switching on the Barbican Christmas Lights. Last year Professor Jacqui Stedmon was our community hero and this year’s event will continue to raise funds for Jeremiah’s Journey.
The PWP Community Hero Award celebrates those who have gone above and beyond to make a positive impact on the waterfront, whether through volunteer work, community projects, or simply making a difference in the lives of others.
The award is a way to recognise and acknowledge the invaluable contributions of individuals and organisations that help to create a vibrant and thriving waterfront community.
Jon Walton and Kim Downer, Plymouth Waterfront Partnership:
“The Community Hero Award is a great opportunity for the whole waterfront community to come together to celebrate someone, or group of people, who have gone above and beyond this year. We would encourage everyone to consider the special people in their lives and deserve recognition for the positive impact they have made on Plymouth this year. This event is all about pride in our wonderful city and what better way to celebrate it.”
