Mount Kelly Open Days give parents and potential new pupils an authentic and candid feel for school life. They are a unique opportunity to see, first-hand, what school life is really like at Mount Kelly in Tavistock, Devon.
Aside from home-made cakes, nothing special is laid on. Enthusiastic pupil ambassadors conduct the tours. They chat about their experiences and show you their favourite spaces. Lessons carry on as normal and break times are when you really feel the school’s character.
At an Open Day, you experience first-hand the schools USP. Space, safety, sports, competitive swimming, girls’ football, outdoor education and fresh air rank highly. They sit happily next to excellent academics and creative arts.
Fees and scholarships are explained on the day and it’s a good occasion to discuss financial matters in more detail.
If you can’t make an Open Day, personal tours are available all year round. This is an opportunity for a curated tour, tailored to your child; a chance to play football with the team; meet a sports coach and have a swim; meet academic heads and explore how your child can achieve their dreams. A one-to-one with the Head Master is an opportunity to decide if the school’s family values align with your own. A one-to-one with the Head of Academic will give you a bespoke steer through subject options.
As one parent said: “We attended a fantastic open day. The school has a lovely atmosphere, we felt welcomed and it was immensely reassuring from a parental perspective.”
