Tavistock is in bloom again and we are looking forward to the busy summer months. We have our Cream Tea Week to look forward to at the end of June, where businesses battle it out to be crowned champion of a new and inspired cream tea flavour, topped off with a new Cream Tea & Bubbles Festival on Sunday 30th June where the winner will be announced.
We were so thrilled that all our efforts on the ‘Stop the Meters’ campaign were successful and there will be no on-street parking charges in the town centre for the foreseeable future. Our focus now must continue to be on protecting and championing the high street. It has been a difficult, long winter for many of our businesses and the town centre needs the continued support of locals and visitors as much as ever. Where you shop really does matter and we must protect what we have here in Tavistock. The cost-of-living crisis is making people think more about what they are buying and where from, but shopping online doesn’t necessarily save you money. It’s so important to support local businesses, plus it is a more sustainable form of shopping. It really is a case of ‘use it or lose it’.
There is plenty happening in the town over the coming months – check out everything on offer at visit-tavistock.co.uk/whats-on
