The results of the local elections at West Devon Borough Council have been declared and there will be a lot of new councillors in West Devon.
The turnout across the Borough was strong, with 43 % of those eligible casting their vote. The ruling party at West Devon Borough Council will remain Conservative, by a majority of one seat, and the political composition of the Council will now be 16 Conservative, 11 independent, 2 Green and 2 Liberal Democrat councillors.
In total West Devon Borough Council will have 15 new councillors and 16 returning councillors. This means that there are likely to be many new faces taking up key positions on the various committees and taking key roles in the authority, including a new Leader.
