Stockport born and bred, George Lewisis one of the most exciting comedy acts to burst on to the scene in recent years. A multi-award winner, George has won the Amused Moose Laugh Off, Nando’s New Comedian of the Year, The Brighton Squawker Award, the Comedy Cafe New Act of the Year, the Comedy Knights Fresh Comedian of the Year. In 2016 he was runner up in the prestigious Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, was selected to perform as part of the Pleasance Reserve and was a BBC New Comedy Award Finalist at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Spring 2017 saw George join the Top Gear team as the new host of Top Gear: Extra Gear alongside Rory Reid and Chris Harris, airing on BBC Three, BBC Two and BBC America. George was also identified as a rising star in broadcasting by being named on the BBC New Talent Hotlist.
2018 has already seen George take the hot seat, and win, BBC One’s Celebrity Mastermindwith his specialist subject ‘Oasis’. He’s also appeared as a panelist on CBBC’s The Dog Ate My Homework and a pilot episode of Jokes for ITV2. This year will see George take his debut hour A Man, a Plan, a Girl with Fake Tan to the Edinburgh Fringe.
