Chagford Film Festival
The 10th Chagford Film Festival gets underway on Monday, September 20th, culminating in a fabulous parade on the evening of Saturday, September 25th followed by a screening of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
On the opening night, a black tie reception will be followed by a film of the London stage production of ‘An American in Paris’ which had 5 star reviews from Broadway and London’s West End, winning many awards for best stage musical. Festival organisers are thrilled to bring this amazing screening to Chagford. To complete the evening, there will be live music from the Gershwin Era.
Mid-week, Sacha Dench, ‘The Human Swan’ will be joining us with her film and hopefully a Q & A session. Sacha is travelling all over Britain gathering information and support to present to world leaders including Boris Johnson at the Cop 21 Summit in Glasgow this October. She has spoken to audiences from school children to presidents, promoting education and understanding about the urgency for climate control. Sacha has worked tirelessly promoting this most important message. Her work gained her the 2018 Britannia Trophy for the most meritorious performance in aviation and Environment Campaigner of the Year 2017.
Much more is planned for the week including many more films, visits from the film industry professionals, children’s events, live entertainment and even a screening you can bring your dog to. For full information go to www.chagfilm.org
