This six-day chair making course uses similar techniques to the stool-making course, but requires more time and involves additional processes such as steam-bending certain components of the chair to give them the correct form. There is a range of chair designs that can be used, to suit all abilities. Some previous green woodworking experience is helpful, although not essential, for this longer course. Spending a week working in the woods, being so close to nature, using wood from the woods and hand tools to produce a beautifully unique piece of furniture is a deeply fulfilling experience. On top of that, the sense of achievement gained from having made your own chair that will last for generations is something rather special.
Courses take place in a lovely woodland environment at Sallerton Wood in a small group of up to 6 people.
Price: £410 per person
