Christmas concert
Join Stannary Brass Band in St Eustachius’ Church, Tavistock at 7.30pm for our Christmas Concert, including a wide variety of popular and seasonal music. Music can make a huge difference to people's lives and Stannary Brass Band provides a local opportunity for learning as well as an enjoyable and stimulating activity for all ages.
The band continues to fundraise so that children can be taught to play a brass instrument at very little cost. This year we received £500 from Magic Little Grants, a charity funded by players of People's Postcode Lottery. This funding has enabled four of our young players to have some individual music lessons which have really helped them make progress.
The children pictured have been playing for little more than one year. They have all come to the band with enthusiastic parents who are also learning to play. We hope these children will continue to experience the fun of music-making throughout their lives after making a start with our band. Music brings people together and improves health and well-being. If you might be interested in trying an instrument, please visit stannarybrassbandtavistock.org.uk and contact us by email or phone. We thank the people who play People's Postcode Lottery, enabling the support of local charities. Magic Little Grants are made through the partnership between Localgiving and Postcode Local Trust: localgiving.org/magic-little-grants. You can support Stannary Brass Band by joining us on Saturday 16 December for our Christmas Concert.
Tickets are available from Stags Estate Agents, Bedford Square, or on the door.
Merry Christmas and we hope to see you there.
