Musica Viva is excited to present the Kleio Quartet, fresh from their First Prize and Commission Prize awards at the 2023 Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition. This programme features two stunning works for string quartet: Mozart’s resplendent Quartet in G major K.378 and the taut and dramatic Bartok fourth String Quartet, which uses folk idioms as a point of departure. Brahms’ mighty Piano Quintet, with pianist Robert Taub collaborating with the Kleio Quartet, concludes the evening.
Mozart – String Quartet in G major, K.378
Bartók – String Quartet no.4
Brahms – Piano Quintet Op.34 (with Robert Taub, pianist)
