Guernsey could offer a perfect summer 2021 getaway
It goes without saying that some industries have been hit harder than others during the pandemic – and the travel industry is still facing unprecedented challenges.
If you were due to jet off on your amazing break abroad in the coming weeks, the chances are you are either now faced with cancellations or you are once again changing/postponing your plans. The traffic light system has been difficult to navigate, and extra testing costs along with the worry of isolation upon return will have put many off for this year.
There are, however, still plenty of opportunities for that summer retreat.
“The Channel Islands offers some great options,” says Emma Baker of Holsworthy Travel. “It feels like a proper break away as you can hop on the ferry or travel by plane, but the islands have minimal restrictions for fully vaccinated holiday-makers.
“Those who have received both doses of their vaccine can take one free PCR test on arrival and then get on with their holiday as soon as the results are back (assuming they are negative, of course). Results should available be within 8 hours. Guests will be able to order room service whilst they await their results and there are none of the added testing costs that holiday-makers can incur with breaks to other destinations.”
