Proper Job are hosting a Repair & Reuse Day on Saturday 26th June, 1.30pm-4.30pm at Endecott House, Chagford.
The event consists of three separate workshops under one roof; Bike Repair and Maintenance, Tool & Knife Sharpening and Clothing Repairs, Alterations and Repurposing. Repair, maintain, repurpose and breathe new life into your belongings. Come along and join the repair revolution!
Tool & Knife Sharpening with Eric Hodges
Learn to sharpen your tools with Eric Hodges. Do you have blunt knives, shears, planes, scissors, saws, hoes and spades? Then book into our Tool & Knife Sharpening Workshop. Bring a few along and Eric will show you through different techniques to ensure that you are getting the best performance out of your tools.
Over 18s only. Please ensure that you are wearing suitable clothing and sturdy footwear for safety reasons. If you are bringing sharp objects such as knives please ensure that they are wrapped up and covered during transportation to avoid injury. Each sharpening session lasts 30 minutes and costs £6+ booking fee.
Bike repair and maintenance with Frank ‘The Bike Fixer’
Bring your bicycle for Frank to give it a quick once over, and get it ready for safe summer cycling! Frank will complete a mini service of your bike to make sure it is safe and running efficiently. Each session is 20 minutes long and costs £6+ booking fee. Frank will show you how maintain and care for your bike to ensure optimum performance. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
If your bike requires more comprehensive parts and repairs Frank can book you in to his workshop in Crannafords Ind. Park at a later date.
Clothing Repairs, Alterations and Repurposing
Broken zip, missing buttons, trousers too long, skirt too big? Do you have a favourite item of clothing that needs repair or alteration, or even some simple repurposing. Maybe a favourite blouse or dress that you can't bear to part with that could be upcycled and revamped?! We have some of Chagford's most talented seamstresses at your disposal!
Each session is 30 minutes and costs £6+ booking fee, but if your repair is complicated or you are looking to repurpose an item then please book two sessions.
